Global Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights’ is a rapid growing transdisciplinary area of interest not only at universities and health care but in the society as whole. Thus, a wide range of claims-makers of the “truth” exist; from creating justice and saving the world to study reality and presenting results even if they go against other views. This online lecture aims to discuss how and on what “scientific truths” related to female genital mutilation/cutting/circumcision, rest on – ideology or empirical data? What potential impact does it have for clinical care and professionalism in our reproductive health sector in a globalized society?
